Five players seal berth for World Golfers Championship 2015

Indian golfers Shiv Naren Srinivasan, Sridhar Reddy, Gurdeep Singh Virdi, Bhisham Batra and Shrenik Kumar have sealed a spot to play in the World Golfers Championship to be held in Belek, Turkey from November 28th to December 5th.

All the five golfers had to fight hard in the field of 500 golfers over four rounds of the 7th Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival, South India's largest event that concluded at the Karnataka Golf Association yesterday.

A scratch golfer, Shiv Naren, who is a regular on the Indian Golf Union's men amateur circuit, collected 39 stableford points in 0-5 handicap category. Naren who came 3rd at the 2015 IGU's Western India Amateur said, "I am glad with the way I have played. It's a step towards my dream of playing for Indian amateur golf squad."
 

Joining Shiv Naren to represent corporate India at the World Golfers Championship will be 9-handicapper Sridhar Reddy from 6-10 handicap category who scored 41 points on day one and Gurdeep Singh Virdi (H'cap - 12) who shot 39 points yesterday in 11-15 handicap category.

Bhisham Batra (H'cap - 16) with 39 points and Shrenik Kumar (H'cap - 22), also with 39 points will be playing in 16-20 and 21-24 handicap categories respectively.
