Five police constables injured in road accident

At least five police personnel were injured today when their vehicle lost control and fell into a pond on National Highway-37.

The vehicle was the escort of Morigaon Superintendent of Police Swapnaneel Deka, who was accompanying Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

According to Deka, five constables of his escort car were seriously inured when the vehicle lost control and fell into a pond near Bisnu Mandir on National Highway-37 at Dharamtul.

"We were following the CM's convoy to Batadrava in Nagaon at the time of the accident. The injured have been shifted to Morigaon Civil Hospital and they are out of danger," Deka said.
