Five police personnel were injured, when a jeep laden with seized fire crackers exploded in the compound of a police station in Habra area of North 24 Parganas district today.
The police this morning raided various places in Barasat area and seized huge amount of banned fire crackers.
They loaded the seized fire crackers in a jeep and took it to the Habra Police Station.
As the jeep entered the compound of the police station, the fire crackers exploded and injured the police personnel, a senior district police officer said.
The injured were taken to a nearby hospital.
