Five policemen injured in clash

A group of around 250 persons blocked Pratapgarh-Rae Bareli road and when the police team tried to clear the route the mob went on a rampage, IG (Law and Order) B P Singh told reporters here.

The protesters indulged in brickbatting and damaged two vehicles, he said adding, five policemen were injured in the clash.

The situation is under control, Singh said.

Vipin Pal (18), a student of Class XI, was hit by a vehicle while he was going to school in Leelapur village under Lalganj police station yesterday.

Vipin was rushed to the hospital, where he died during treatment leading to ruckus by his family members, who alleged negligence of doctors in treatment, he said.

 

Family members of Vipin vandalised the emergency room and assaulted doctor, wardboy and pharmacist after which five persons were arrested, Singh said.
