Five policemen shunted out in custodial death case

Five policemen, including SHO of Budhana police station, who were booked for the death of a 50-year-old man in police custody, were today shunted out, police said.

According to SP (Crime) Rakesh Lolly, five police men, including SHO Dhanender Mishra, Sub-Inspector Rajesh Sharma and three police constables Hariram, Gyanender and Vipin Kumar have been been shifted to police lines from Budhana police station after they were booked on charges of murder in connection with custodial death of Nawab Qureshi.

Action has been taken against the police men after hundreds of irate people yesterday gheraoed and ransacked the Budhana police station and demanded strict action against the guilty cops, he said.
 

Police had arrested Nawab, who was wanted in a case, but he died due to heart failure in police custody.

The victim's family has alleged that Nawab was tortured by the police during custody and died during interrogation.
