A five-year-old girl died while four members of her family were severely injured when the roof of a gurudwara collapsed in east Delhi's Geeta Colony area, police said today.
The girl and her family lived in the premises of the gurudwara as her father used to work in the gurudwara, police said, adding that the incident was reported in the early hours today.
Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot and a joint rescue operation was conducted by Delhi Disaster Management Authority, Delhi Fire Services and Delhi Police after authorities were notified at around 2.30 am, said the police officer.

Her family members, who sustained severe injuries, have been identified as Rajendar Singh (35), Rajender Kaur (30), Harmant Preet Kaur (9) and Sagar (20), said the senior officer.
"A case has been registered under Section 304A (causing death by negligence) of IPC and an investigation is under way," the police official added.
A senior government official said that the structure was unauthorised and unengineered. The concerned land belongs to the Department of Social Welfare, Delhi, and it was allegedly encroached upon. Some area outside the structure was also allegedly used as unauthorised parking.
The Department of Social Welfare had recently asked the Public Works Department (PWD) to construct a boundary wall there in order to prevent further encroachment. Construction of the wall is in progress.
