Five year-old girl mauled by stray dogs

The child, who was bitten on her cheeks, neck and ears, was immediately rushed to hospital, police said.

According to Parviz Ahmad Piran, Joint Director, Animal Husbandry Department Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (city corporation), the girl will be under observation for 10 days.

Noting that the stray dog menace can be controlled only through birth control, Piran said out of around 4 lakh stray dogs in the city, three lakh have already been sterilised.
