Five youths, including two brothers, died after consuming spurious alcohol during Holi in Hastinapur area of the district, police said today.
The youths, all in their twenties, had to be rushed to the hospital as their condition deteriorated after drinking alcohol, a police official said.
They all died in the hospital this morning, he added.
The deceased have been identified as Raju, Kishan, Rajkumar, Mahendra and Manoj, police said adding that their bodies have been sent for post mortem.
A police team along with officials from Excise Department will carry out a search in Khadar area from where the alcohol was purchased, the official said.
The district magistrate has also ordered a probe into the matter.
