A section of drivers and conductors of the city transport went on a flash strike early today seeking the arrest of two motorcycle borne persons, who had reportedly assaulted a driver here.
The bus, which was proceeding to Cheramaanagar from Gandhipuram, had lightly touched a two-wheeler last evening. Enraged over the incident, the two entered into an argument with driver Selvakumar, resulting in fisticuff between them.
Seeking the arrest of the duo, drivers and conductors numbering about 200 in the bus depot refused to take vehicle from four AM today, seeking to book those who assaulted Selvakumar.
They withdrew the strike after the local MLA and officials from transport and police departments assured to arrest the culprits.
