Vying to return to power in the national capital after 15 years, Delhi BJP today promised to provide flats to each and every family living in over 600 slum clusters if it wins the assembly polls slated for November.
Addressing a 'Jhuggi-Jhopri' convention at Talkotara stadium organised by the party, Delhi BJP chief Vijay Goel said flats will be built on Public Private Partnership model at places where slum dwellers are living at present.
"In the last 15 years, 40 lakh people living in slum clusters have been betrayed by the Delhi Government. If BJP comes to power, then flats will be given to each and every family living in slum clusters," Goel announced in presence of BJP's election in-charge for Delhi, Nitin Gadkari.

"I also promise that you will be given cheap electricity and clean water once BJP come to power. We will also set up dispensary, police booth, proper toilet and school in the area you are living. We will also issue ration cards to eligible people living in the slums," Goel said.
People from over hundred slum clusters participated in the convention, organised by the party to announce a "development agenda" for the slum dwellers.
Address the gathering, Gadkari praised the development model of Gujarat and said all the promises made by the party for people in Delhi will be fulfilled if BJP regains power in Delhi assembly polls.
"I have asked Vijay Goel not to make false promises and we will fulfil all our promises. People living in jhuggi jhopri will be given houses if we win the polls," Gadkari said.
