Flight operations at IGI normal

There was fog at the airport since last night, which became shallow in the morning but as the visibility remained good there was no effect on the flight operations, which remained normal, an airport official said.

Though there were four cancellations, it was due to operational reasons and there was no delay or cancellations due to fog at Delhi, he said.

Yesterday, only one flight was delayed due to weather at Delhi while 15 others due to operational reasons and bad weather at destination and five others were cancelled due to the same reason.

The airport witnessed shallow fog from 8.30 PM last night but the visibility remained above 2,000 metres on main runway while it dipped to 1600 metres on the third runway (29/11).

 

Visibility dropped to 1300 meters on the main runway (28/10) between 12.30 AM and 1.30 AM on main runway but it dropped to 700 metres on third runway but there was no affect on the flight movement.

It started to improve around 2.30 AM and visibility again increased to 2000 meters. Dense fog had affected flight operations at the IGI airport for during the last week, leading to delay of over 400 flights.
