: All tourism activities in the famous tourist spot of Hogenakal were today suspended till further notice following a flood alert sounded by the district administration due to increased inflows in Cauvery river.
District Collector K Vivekanandan in a release said heavy rainfall in catchment areas in Karnataka forest has led to good inflow into reservoirs in that state. Surplus water released from Kabini and Krishnaraja Sagar reservoirs has led to increase in inflow into Cauvery of 28,000 cusecs.
He said the pathway to water falls area has been totally submerged. Tourists would not be permitted to enter the water falls area and all tourism activities, including taking bath in the waterfalls, River Cauvery and coracle operation were suspended, he said.

A team of officials comprised with PWD, Revenue, Forest, Police, Fire and Rescue Service and Development were monitoring the water flow, he said.
