With weather remaining mainly dry in Uttar Pradesh today, situation in flood-hit areas of the state further improved today.
River Ganga, which had been in spate, was now static at Bulandshahr, Kanpur and Rae Bareli, while it is receding at Farrukhabad , Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Allahabad, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Ballia and Gazipur, officials said.
However, it is still flowing above the red mark at Ballia.
Besides, Sharda at Palia Kalan, Ghaghra at Turtipar, Rapti at Balrampur and Gorakhpur, Budhi Rapti at Kakrahi and Quano at Gonda were flowing above the red mark, the officials said.
