The Florence and the Machine lead singer has bought a pad just a few streets away from her mother in south London, after confessing that at the age of 25 she really ought to have flown the nest, reported Sun online.

The 'Dog Days Are Over' hitmaker had admitted earlier that as a teenager her two goals were "to move out and to have a music career".

However, she added, "It seems one has really taken precedence and made the other one quite hard. I'm 25 and I've got to move out before I'm 26. That's my goal now."

Over the past couple of months Welch has been searching the local area to find somewhere to call her own, yet isn't too far away from her parents' home.

A source said that the homesick singer is so concerned about moving into a new place that she's taken lots of photos from her old room to recreate its feel.

"She was so keen to bring a little piece of home with her that she's making a replica of her bedroom," the source said.
