After two days of respite, cold conditions today revived at many places in Punjab and Haryana with dense fog affecting normal life.
Amritsar was the coldest in the two states recording a low of 2 degrees, one degree below normal, a MeT department report said.
Patiala, too, witnessed a cold night at 5.6 degree Celsius while Ludhiana's minimum settled at 7.6 degrees.

In Haryana, Narnaul was the coldest place registering a low of 4 degrees, one below normal while Hisar's low settled at 5.7 degree Celsius. Ambala recorded a low of 6.8 degrees.
Chandigarh's minimum temperature settled at 6.6 deg C.
A MeT official said here that fog prevailed at many places in the two states including Chandigarh early today, reducing visibility levels.
Meanwhile, the Shatabdi Express train from New Delhi to Kalka via Chandigarh was today again delayed at the originating station due to fog in the national capital.
The train scheduled to depart at 7.40 AM has been rescheduled to leave the national capital for Chandigarh by about five hours.
Howrah-Kalka Mail was running late by over 15 hours while Lucknow Chandigarh Sadbhavna Express and Ludhiana-Chandigarh special trains were also late by 4.30 hours and 85 minutes, respectively, officials said.
Two flights each of private carriers from Chandigarh to Delhi and Chandigarh to Mumbai stood cancelled.
