Dense fog disrupted air and rail traffic in Jammu with two incoming flights being delayed for several hours due to poor visibility and all trains to the city running late.

"Two Jammu-bound flight were delayed by several hours. The first flight which was supposed to land at Jammu airport at 9 am landed at around 11:45 am. The second one that was supposed to land at 10:45 am landed at 12 pm," Airport Manager Jammu Airport Mukesh Kumar said.

He said the disruption happened due to poor visibility at the airport after dense fog engulfed the region early morning. "Air traffic has become normal here after the visibility improved as the weather improved later in the afternoon," he said.

A total of 15 flights operate from Jammu Airport daily and only the early morning flights were delayed due to the poor visibility caused by the dense fog, Kumar said.

Meanwhile, almost all the trains coming to Jammu have been delayed by several hours due to the fog in the region, an official at the Jammu railway station said.
