Fog disrupts transport services in Raj; Mount Abu at 2 deg C

Dense fog today disrupted movement of trains and road transportation in the state, throwing normal life out of gear, with hilly Mount Abu experiencing the lowest temperature at 2 degree Celsius.

Over eight trains under the North-West Region (NWR) have been running late and five others were rescheduled, an NWR spokesman said.

The Sealdah-Ajmer train is running 1810 hrs late followed by Howrah-Jodhpur/Bikaner train by 1630 hours, while trains between Allahabad-Jaipur, Gorakhpur-Hisar, and Kanpur-Jaipur are running late by at least eight to nine hours, the spokesman said.

Road transportation, especially roadways buses were plying late due to fog in neighbouring states of Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh, an RTDC official said.
 

Mercury has, meanwhile shown upward trend by a few notches at many places in the state since last night.

Churu recorded a minimum of 4.1 degree Celsius, followed by Udaipur at 5.2 degrees, Pilani 5.7 degrees, Srigangangar 6.2 degrees, and Jaipur at 7.3 degrees Celsius.

Elsewhere the minimum temperature ranged between 8 degrees and 11 degrees Celsius.

No major change in the existing weather has been forecast.
