Fog engulfs Punjab, Haryana

Cold conditions prevailed in Punjab and Haryana today with most parts of the region engulfed under fog.

The minimum temperatures in most parts of Punjab and Haryana hovered between four to one degree celisus above normal, the MeT office said here.

Hisar was the coldest place in Punjab and Haryana with a low of 7.4 degrees celsius, 0.5 notches below normal, the local MeT office said.

The minimum temperatures in Bhiwani, Rohtak, Karnal, Amritsar, Ambala, Patiala, Sirsa and Pathankot recorded a low of 7.8, 7.9, 8.2, 8.4, 8.8, 9, 9.2 and 10.1 degrees Celsius respectively.

Chandigarh, the common capital of both the states, recorded a low of 9.8 degrees celsius, three notches above normal.
 

The MeT has forecast cloudy sky during the next 48 hours.
