Fog continued to throw the rail service out of gear in the northern region with scores of trains running behind schedule, causing inconvenience to passengers.
As many as 38 trains, mostly Delhi-bound ones, were facing delays, some of over several hours, due to poor visibility.
Railways also cancelled five trains, including the Shan-e- Punjab Express and the New Delhi-Jalandhar Express.

While Farakka Express was running 15 hours late, Northeast Express and Bhagalpur Garib Rath were, respectively, 14 and nine hours behind schedule, according to the Railway Ministry.
Railways also had to reschedule the departures of more than a dozen trains like the Bhubaneswar Rajdhani and the Amritsar Shatabdi.
