Food fest offers a taste of Africa

Couscous stuffed tomatoes, Falafel, Butternut and Shallot Soup, Shakalaka Lichi or Baobab Chocolate Pastry form titillating delicacies from Africa on offer at an ongoing food festival here.

"The African continent is huge with its cuisine varying from region to region. Here's one food festival that can showcase a huge variety in its culinary delights. Africa is the land of carnivals and celebrations - Then why not have an African theme for our festival!" says Chef Vijay Anank Bakshi, Head, Culinary Operations, Barbeque Nation.

The festival 'Africa Magica' is being organised by the restaurant across all its chains across the country and offers foodies a a chance to experience Afro delicacies. The festival is set to culminate on May 10.
 

Running for the second year in a row, after as successful debut, some of the signature dishes which are being offered include Jollof Rice- a popular West African dish containing African rice, tomatoes, onions, spices, cumin and hot red pepper.

PiriPiri Tangdi - PiriPiri (African Bird's Eye Chili) Chicken, most famous barbecued preparation from Africa's Mozambique region is also on offer.
