India's food processing industry should focus on nutritional products as the country faces the challenge of malnutrition, a US government official said today.
Scott Sindelar, Minister Counselor, Agriculture Affairs in the US embassy, added that producers of nutritional food with vitamins and proteins will have a good market.
Addressing the Jaipur chapter of the newly formed Indo-American Chamber of Commerce's (IACC) Northern India Council (NIC) at the SMS Convention Centrehere, he said that in the last two decades, India has greatly increased its agriculture exports.

"But there is enough to be done in food processing and nutrition where US can help," he said.
India uses only 12 per cent of its agro produce for food processinganditshould be increased manifold, Sindelar said, adding that building infrastructure like cold chains and warehouses will also control food wastage.
