Foodgrain prices fall at wholesale market

Prices of moong dal, gram dal, sugar and wheat decreased while those of thoor dal increased at the wholesale foodgrains market here today.

Moong dal declined by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 9,600 from Rs 9,800 earlier.

In addition, gram dal, sugar and wheat fell by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 4,800, Rs 2,800 and Rs 2,600 from its previous rate of Rs 4,900, Rs 2,900 and Rs 2,700, respectively.

In contrast, thoor dal rose by Rs 500 per quintal to Rs 8,500 from its previous rate of Rs 8,000.

However, urad dal (Rs 8,400), Maida (90 kg) (Rs 2,400) and Sooji (90 kg) (Rs 3,000) ruled steady in the market.
 

Following are the wholesale rates of various agri commodities (in Rs per quintal, except where stated otherwise): Thoor Dal Rs 8,500, Urad Dal Rs 8,400, Moong Dal Rs 9,600, Gram Dal Rs 4,800, Sugar Rs 2,800, Wheat Rs 2,600, Maida (90 kg) Rs 2,400 and Sooji (90 kg) Rs 3,000.
