Foodgrain prices fall during weekend

Prices of thoor dal, gram dal and wheat decreased while that of the rest ruled steady in the wholesale foodgrain market here during the week under review.

Opening at the same closing rate of Rs 7,900, thoor dal price ruled steady till Thursday, and fell by Rs 100 per quintal to close the week at Rs 7,800.

Gram dal opened at Rs 7,000, less by Rs 400 from Rs 7,400 per quintal to close the week at its opening rate of Rs 7,000.

Wheat was less by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 2,900 from Rs 3,000, its closing rate and finished this week at Rs 2,900.
 

The price of Urad dal rose by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 9,000 from Rs 8,900, but its price dropped on Thursday, by Rs 100, to finish the week at its same closing rate of Rs 8,900.

Closing the week at Rs 4,300, sugar opened the week at Rs 4,250 less by Rs 50 per quintal from Rs 4,300, but its price increased on Thursday by Rs 50 and ended the week at Rs 4,300.

Meanwhile, prices of moong dal (Rs.6,700), maida (90 kg) (Rs.2,700) and sooji (90 kg)(Rs.3,200) ruled steady throughout the week.
