Foodgrains delivered to primitive tribes at their doorsteps

Foodgrains have been delivered to members of primitive Sabar tribe at their doorsteps in Jharkhand's East Singhbhum district, an official release has said.

Rice, sugar and kerosene were given to 100 Sabar tribe members of Sabarnagar under Gwalkata panchayat at their doorsteps under the 'Dakia Yojana' scheme in the presence of BJP MLA from Potka Menaka Sardar and Block Development Officer, Potka, Kapil Kumar, the release said Wednesday.

Under the 'Dakia Yojana' scheme the employees of Jharkhand Food and Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs department deliver free foodgrains at the doorsteps of the primitive tribes every month.

Appreciating the 'Dakia Yojana' scheme Sardar said the bonafide beneficiaries were getting benefit under the scheme.

 

The BJP MLA said the state government has also assured to provide pension to the members of the primitive tribes and advised them to apply for it in the concerned block office.
