Force Motors plans to set up engine plant in TN

Automobile manufacturer Force Motors Ltd has proposed setting up a manufacturing facility at Chengalpet in Tamil Nadu to manufacture engines and other components, the company said today.

A decision to this effect was taken at the company's board meeting which was held in Pune.

"...The Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on April 29, has decided and approved, subject to receipt of necessary permissions, approvals, sanctions, to establish a manufacturing facility at Village Anjur, Chengalpet, Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu to manufacture and assemble engine-gearbox for automobiles", the company said in a filing to stock exchanges.

"...The decision was subject to receipt of necessary approvals from the Statutory authorities and subject to the contracts with other contracting parties", it said.
 

Force Motors manufactures a range of small commercial vehicles, light commercial vehicles, multi-utility vehicles, sports utility vehicles and tractors.

Shares of the company were trading at Rs 386 apiece up by 1.07 per cent over previous close in the afternoon trade at the BSE.
