The country witnessed an increase of over 10 per cent in foreign tourist footfall with the number of visitors touching 7.70 million in 2014 as against 6.97 million the year before.

Since 2010, there has been no decline in the number of foreign tourist arrivals in India, according to Tourism Ministry data.

There were 5.78 million foreign tourists in 2010 which increased to 6.31 million in 2011. The number further increased to 6.58 million in 2012.
