Goa Chief minister Manohar Parrikar told this to the state Legislative Assembly today.
"In order to curb the menace of drugs in the state, an unobtrusive surveillance over foreigners and suspected traffickers is maintained," Parrikar has said in a written reply tabled on the floor of the House.
He said that the beach shacks and restaurants are also put under scanner to arrest the drug menace.
Parrikar was responding to a question from Calangute legislator Michael Lobo.
"State Anti-Narcotics Cell had also geared up to tackle the drug activities and book maximum cases under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act)," the chief minister said.
Goa police have booked 20 cases under the NDPS Act between April and June this year.
