Forensic experts and engineers from the Jadavpur University civil engineering department today inspected the collapsed portion of the flyover at Ultadanga here to determine the cause of the mishap that left three persons injured.
One of the experts said that the plan of the flyover would be examined besides the condition of the box girders on the flyover, the middle portion of which collapsed and fell into a canal as a truck was passing over it at 4:30 am yesterday injuring the driver and two others on board.
"We will try to ascertain if the overloaded truck hit any of the girders which might have been loosened already leading to the collapse or there was some other reason," he said.
