Forest department retrieve over 11 acre state land in Ramban

The forest department has retrieved over 11 acres of state land that was encroached upon in the Ballout village of the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir today.

"As part of its drive to evict the recorded and unrecorded illegal encroachments from forests, a team of forest department today retrieved 11.85 acre of state land", an official spokesman said.

He said that a raid was carried out by the officials of the forest department in the Ballout village in Ramban district. Standing maize crop on 11.85 acre of encroached forest land was also destroyed by the department, he said.

The spokesman said that two residential houses have also been reportedly constructed on the illegally encroached forest land and action would be taken against the two owners of the house.
