Forest dept retrieves over six acres of land in Ramban

The forest department has retrieved over six acres of land from the 'illegal encroachers' in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The forest department in Ramban also demolished two illegal structures that were constructed on the encroached land yesterday, an official spokesman said here today.

The land was encroached upon allegedly by Yaseen Qasim, Munshi and Shafi who had converted the forest land into agriculture land, he said.

The eviction process was executed by territorial staff of Ramban forest region with the assistance of Forest Protection Force and police personnel, he said.
