Sajjad is in touch with Navtej Singh Toor, senior lawyer and former president of Punjab and Haryana Bar Association.
Toor said the house, however, is yet to be located and "we are in touch with the municipal officers and checking through records of 1940s to find out that of the three houses marked by us, which one belonged to his maternal grandfather."
Sajjad's maternal grandfather, Sheikh Muhammad Sharif was a lawyer who had shifted to Pakistan after partition.
Sajjad was the acting President of Pakistan twice, in 1993 and in 1996-97.
