Former BSP MLA's son shot at in Azamgarh

Son of a former BSP MLA was today shot at by unidentified persons in Kotwali area, police said here.

Mahendra Yadav (35), the only son of former BSP MLA Rajbali Yadav, was shot at while he was on a morning walk in Datsingar locality, they said.

Police said that Mahendra was rushed to the district hospital in serious condition from where he was referred to Varanasi.

The former MLA is bedridden and the family said they have no animosity with anyone.

Meanwhile, Additional Director General of Police

(Headquarter) Sunil Kumar told reporters that the murder of LJP leader Baijnathi Singh was a fallout of a gang war with rival Munna Singh.
 

Baijnathi Singh's wife and the wife of his younger brother, who have been injured in the attack, have registered an FIR against rival gang leader Munna Singh, the ADG said.

The ADG said the victim himself was facing a lot of criminal cases.

Baijnathi Singh was dismissed from police service earlier when he was posted in Supual and since then has been named in several criminal cases and was locked in enmity with other gangs, he added.

Kumar said the murder was a challenge to the Patna police and the killers would be nabbed soon.
