Former bureaucrat Jyotiprasad Saikia today resigned from the primary membership of the Congress, which, he claimed, was no longer an honest organisation working for the people.
In his resignation letter to the president of the state Congress committee, the former chairman of the Assam Film Finance and Development Corporation alleged that the party has been in the grip of "family rule".
Besides, the current members of the party were only interested in making money and have become power hungry, alleged Saikia, also a former journalist.
