A former admissions officer at a top Chinese university is standing trial for taking $3.6 million in bribes.
Today's trial was announced on the website the Nanjing Intermediate People's Court in the eastern city of Nanjing. The court was not immediately available today to offer updates.
Prosecutors have alleged that Cai Rongsheng, the former head of the admissions office at Renmin University in Beijing, took the money in exchange for helping students get admitted into the university or have their majors adjusted.
