Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has received a legal notice from a senior IAS officer for making a statement against him for allegedly playing a role in the arrest of BSSC chairman Sudhir Kumar.
Though the senior IAS officer Chanchal Kumar refused to say anything on the issue, Manjhi today confirmed to PTI receiving a legal notice from him (Kumar) three days back.
When contacted by PTI, Chanchal Kumar said he has nothing to say on the matter.

Manjhi said in the legal notice the IAS officer has expressed objection on him (Manjhi) making a press statement recently that since Sudhir Kumar had meted out some punishment to his father-in-law around 15-20 years back he (Chanchal Kumar) allegedly played a role in getting him arrested in paper leak case.
"I had made statement in press on the basis of information provided to me by people who had come to meet me," Manjhi, who is President of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), an ally of BJP in NDA, said.
"I will reply to the legal notice," Manjhi, presently MLA from Barachatti in Gaya district, said.
Manjhi had made a strong defence of Sudhir Kumar, a 1987 batch IAS officer whom he had appointed as Principal Secretary Home during his brief tenure as CM, and had alleged the officer has been penalised in paper leak case in recruitment of clerical grade employees because of his dalit background.
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council, Sushil Kumar Modi decried the practise of bureaucrats serving notice to politicians.
"Serving of legal notice by officials to politicians is not a good tradition," Sushil Modi told reporters outside the state Legislative Council.
