Former Congress MLA Mahir Azad dead

Former Congress MLA Mahir Azad died in a private hospital in Gurgaon due to illness.

The 58-year old leader was hospitalised for kidney infection and died during treatment last night.

The burial will take place in the evening today, family sources said.

PCC President Sachin Pilot, Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly Rameshwar Dudi condoled the death of Azad.

Pilot in a statement said that Azad's death was a great loss to the party.

"He was a strong pillar of the party. He worked for the upliftment of all communities, including minorities in his lifetime," the statement read.
