Former minister and Handwara MLA Sajad Gani Lone today called on Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra to discuss various issues related to development, an official spokesperson said.

He said Lone met Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here.

Lone discussed about certain initiatives launched by the Social Welfare and Renewable Energy departments (handled by Lone in the previous government), including a project to establish a Renewable Energy Corporation, he said.

The spokesman said Lone, representing the Handwara constituency of north Kashmir's Kupwara district, also talked about certain impediments which were delaying the implementation of several important development schemes in the district.

The governor told Lone he would consider the issues referred to by him and urged him to continue his endeavours to promote a peaceful environment and work zealously to advance the interests of the state, the spokesperson added.
