Principal Special Judge for CBI cases, Visakhaptnam G Anupama Chakravarthy convicted retired Income Tax Inspector of West Godavari District Lakimsetty Pulla Rao today, on charges of amassing income disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to a CBI press release issued here today, the accused Pulla Rao, who used to be Income Tax Officer in January 1995 to October 2002, was in possession of movable and immovable properties in his name and in the names of his family members, which were disproportionate to his known sources of income.
After trial, the court pronounced judgement convicting Pulla Rao for the offence punishable under Section 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
