Former Bombay High Court Judge B G Kolse-Patil today said that the Maharashtra government should provide timely financial assistance to the hailstorm-hit farmers in Maharashtra.
"The farmers have been hit hard by the untimely rains and hailstorm. The government machinery is conducting the survey of the damages. But the farmers should be provided relief first and surveys or panchnama can be conducted later," he said.
The retired judge was addressing a rally of landless and farm labourers organised under the banner of 'Lok Shasan Andolan'.
