Soon after Pillai's alleged remarks came out in the media, triggering protests from various sections in society, especially from minority community organisations, the KC(B) leader denied the charges.
He reportedly made the speech recently at his home town Pathanapuram in Kollam district at a meeting of Nair Service Society (NSS), an organisation of the forward Nair community in the state.
Condemning the speech, Muslim outfits sought strong action against him for hurting their religious sentiments and alleged it was aimed at igniting communal tension in society.
