Former MLA calls off hunger strike seeking ban on liquor

Former Rajasthan MLA Gurusharan Chhabra, who had been on a hunger strike for the past 45 days demanding complete ban on liquor in the state, today called off his agitation following assurance from the government of formation of a high-level committee to look into his demand.

Rajasthan Health Minister Rajendra Rathore and Minister of State for Social Justice Arun Chaturvedi visited Chhabra at the SMS Government Hospital and got the agitation called off.

They offered Chhabra a glass of juice after assuring him of the formation of the committee. Chhabra was continuing his agitation for the past 45 days.
