Former BJP MLA Jasbir Mallour today stood down from the post of party's Haryana Secretary after being denied a ticket to contest assembly elections from Ambala City constituency.

Around 50 office bearers of the party's city unit also tendered their resignations in support of Mallour.

Mallour later told reporters that he may resign from the party if the high command doesn't the candidate by September 25.

The party's has alloted ticket to Aseem Goel from the constituency.

With BJP announcing its candidates for the 90-member assembly, elections to which are scheduled on October 15, voices of dissent within the party over ticket distribution were recently heard from places like Kaithal, Faridabad, Karnal and Kurukshetra.

BJP is looking to wrest power from Congress in Haryana on its own after its alliance with the Haryana Janhit Party collapsed due to a disagreement over seat-sharing and the chief minister's post.
