Former MP wants suburban railway station at Harrawala

Former BJP MP Tarun Vijay today urged the Centre to develop a suburban railway station at Harrawala near here to decongest Dehradun railway station which is being upgraded.

Raising the issue during a meeting withRailway Minister Suresh Prabhu in Delhi, the former Rajya Sabha MP said a suburban railway station at Harrawala will help decongest Dehradun Railway station which suffers from overcrowding.

He also requested him to rename the suburban railway station as Harrawala Dronacharya Nagar.

Though responding positively to the suggestion, Prabhu said the proposal for this must come from the state government via the Home Ministry, a press release from the former MP's office here said.
 

Vijay also thanked the Union minister for the infrastructural upgradation work being carried out at Dehradun railway station to lift it to A-1 category.
