Former Nagaland minister N Theyo dies

Former state minister and chairman of Nagaland Peace Centre (NPC) Netsutso Theyo has died at Oking Hospital here after a brief illness, family sources said.

Theyo died at 8.40 pm on Thursday, they said.

He was 82 and is survived by three sons and four daughters.

A prayer service was held on Friday at Chakhesang Baptist Church, Kitsubozou, Kohima.

Hailed from Thenyizu village in Phek district, Theyo was elected from Chozuba-II assembly constituency in 1966 and appointed as deputy minister of electricity.

He was inducted as minister for transport and communication, community and tribal development, blocks and town planning in 1972.

Before entering into politics, Theyo was associated with students' union.
