A former Zila panchayat member was killed and his children seriously injured when their vehicle rammed into a tree on Faizabad-Jagdishpur road early this morning, police said.
Sant Bux Singh (55), was on his way to Lucknow with his son and daughter when he lost control over the vehicle and crashed into a tree near Katahati village, said SHO, Jagdishpur, Shiv Muni Yadav.
The injured children were rushed to the government hospital at Jagdishpur from where they were referred to the trauma centre in Lucknow.
The body has been sent for postmortem, Yadav added.
