Former Punjab Lokpal Justice (retd) D S Dhaliwal died here following a prolonged illness, his family said today.
He was 78 and breathed his last at his residence here yesterday.
He is survived by his wife, son and two daughters.

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of the former Lokpal of Punjab.
Badal, in a statement described Justice(retd) Dhaliwal as a "legal luminary and eminent jurist besides an able administrator with the rare qualities of head and heart".
The Chief Minister recalled the distinguished services rendered by Justice Dhaliwal during his tenure as Lokpal Punjab.
Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved family, Badal prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength to his family, relatives and friends to bear this huge loss in this hour of grief.
Dhaliwal was cremated with full state honours here at a crematorium today, an official spokesperson said.
Justice T S Dhindsa, Judge Punjab and Haryana High Court laid wreath on his body on behalf of the Chief Justice, Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Punjab Lokpal Justice (retd) J S Sekhon laid a wreath on behalf the Office of Lokpal while Secretary Lokpal Punjab Deepinder Singh laid a wreath on the behalf of the state government.
Several retired and serving judges, senior bureaucrats and police officers from Punjab government and UT administration of Chandigarh also paid their last respect to the Justice Dhaliwal.
