Veteran Congress leader and former Punjab minister Ramesh Chander Dogra died here today in in a private hospital after a prolonged illness, family sources said.
He was 75.
Dogra, who had been hospitalised for last several weeks, took his last breath this afternoon, they said

He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
According to his elder son, Arun Dogra, the departed leader's funeral would take place in the afternoon here tomorrow.
Dogra also remained Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly earlier and as Minister held the portfolios of Health and Family Welfare and Technical Education in Congress government in 2002-07.
He successfully contested the state assembly election from Dasuya seat as an independent candidate in 1985 for the first time. Later, he joined the Congress and won from the same constituency in 1992, 1997 and 2002.
