Former Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) President Bharatbhai Shah passed away this morning at a hospital in Mumbai after a long illness.
"Shah was 71 and is survived by his wife, son and a daughter. He represented Saurashtra in Ranji trophy matches as a middle-order batsman and was president of the SCA from 1993 to 2013," SCA media manager Himanshu Shah said.
"Bharatbhai had decided to step down from the post of president of the association duo to ill health," he added.

SCA secretary Niranjan Shah, on behalf of the association, its governing body and members, has expressed grief on his demise.
"His love and affection for cricket was remarkable and unforgettable, his sad demise is a great loss not only to the SCA but also to cricket of the Saurashtra region" Niranjan Shah said.
"Bharatbhai will be remembered for his significant and immeasurable contribution for cricket in the association and also in the region," he added.
