The decision to suspend Hammad Nabi was taken by AMU Vice Chancellor Lt General (retired) Zameeruddin Shah, yesterday, official sources said here.
Nabi had allegedly misbehaved and threatened the Dean of Faculty of Engineering in his office on May 2, the sources said.
He has also been charged with keeping unauthorised persons in his hostel room.
Nabi, who was the Secretary of the Students Union till the end of the last academic session, has been asked to vacate his hostel room and the campus.
