Former Supreme Court Judge Justice Paripoornan passes away

Former Supreme Court Judge Justice K S Paripoornan died at a private hospital here here tonight, hospital sources said.

83-year-old Paripoornan was admitted to Medical Trust Hospital here last night due to kidney and heart related problems. He died at 9.05 pm tonight, the sources said.

He began his career as an advocate in the High Court of then Travancore-Cochin in 1956.

He practised in civil, taxation and general matters in the Kerala High Court and occasionally in the Supreme Court and Tribunal also.

He worked as Government counsel in the Kerala High Court from 1966 to 1980. He was appointed a permanent Judge of the Kerala High Court in 1982 and served as Chief Justice of the Patna High Court in 1994.
 

In June, 1994, he was appointed Judge of the Supreme Court.

Justice Paripoornan retired from the Supreme Court in 1997.
